Tom received a Bachelor’s degree in accounting from Central Michigan University in 1977 and joined the firm that same year.

His particular areas of expertise include the tax and auditing aspects of small businesses and local units of government, with an emphasis on restaurant and manufacturing concerns. Additionally, he provides management consulting services to several businesses on day-to-day operations.

Tom is also a registered securities representative working through ATBD Financial Planners, LLC, a related organization.

Tom believes that the firm must provide clients with more than tax returns and financial statements. "We have to gain an understanding of our clients’ operations so we can help them make decisions affecting their futures," he says.

Tom is a member of the Michigan Association of CPA’s, American Institute of CPA’s and serves on the MACPA Management Consulting Services Committee. He is a past president and current secretary of the Caro Lion’s Club and was a "Big Brother" for three years.
